Hello, my name is Scott and this is my rink.
On December 18th my ice was clear and smooth. We call it 'virgin ice' here in backyard-rinkville. In 5 years of making my own ice, this marks the earliest that I have had skateable ice.
Over the years I have found lots of natural elements embedded in my ice, including: sand, tree bark, bark mulch, leaves, 'helicopter' seed pods, and bits of squirrel nests. This year I found a bird's wing. Evidence suggests that it was a Blackhawk, playing the 'off-wing.'
I take what Mother Nature gives me and work hard to keep it smooth and usable.
Hope to see you on my ice sometime soon. Thanks for stopping by.
Nice sweatshirt! Who designed that bad boy?
