Welcome to the 2008/2009 Millin Four-em.
As someone pointed out to me lately, all I've written about is people dying. True. It was a crappy Fall in that regard.
With some help from my friend Jack I put up the heavy end-boards last week. This week I finished setting up the frame, netting, bracing, and lighting. All I need now is to wait for the freezing temperatures to drop the liner and begin to fill.
New expenditures include energy efficient LED lights (for decoration across the netting), a heavy duty extension cord, and timer.
Jim, who all faithful readers know is my neighbor who fixes whatever I break, is going to install a new, hot water spigot off the rink-side of my house so that when I flood the ice surface I won't have to run two hose lengths out of the bulk-head - which faces the street side of the house. The spigot will be self-draining so it will never freeze up in the frigid temperatures, will be close enough to allow me to drop to one hose length, and with a quick connect flooding will be a snap!
I am officially "Jonesing" for Rink Weather.
