The President's Cup Tournament

Chelmsford hosted the President's Cup Tournament this week, and teams from as far away as New York and Maine competed. Danny's team went 4 and 0 in their division, and as a team only gave up 3 goals in all four games. The Chelmsford Maroons played extremely well - their passing, defense, positioning, and skating have improved so much in such a short period of time. They have been a pleasure to help coach.

Some of the highlights of the tournament for me were: the kids who scored their first goals of the season, Alex skating with only the puck on his mind, Danny lifting his stick in the air when his friend Thomas scored, Jack and Jack playing-and falling-with reckless abandon, and the smiles that were on the kids' and the parents' faces. It was a great time. Danny scored 5 goals in the 4 games and, quite frankly, amazed me with his determination and ability. Some pictures below:

Coaching kids is an absolutely amazing experience. As a soccer coach for 2 years and a hockey coach for 1, I find I get more enjoyment out of coaching it now... than I do playing it.

And when one or more of those kids are your own... even better!

Congrats guys!
