So Long Teddi

My sister Nanci's dog, Teddi died on Sunday. He was an old man who had some health issues as of late, and we are very sad.

Ted was...quirky; he was small but he thought he was huge. He was high maintenance, but went anywhere. He was particular, yet happy to be. He was a good dog, and a good friend to my sister.

We have some funny Ted memories:

Many years ago when Danny was just learning to ride a two wheeler, Ted would freak out at moving objects, and chase him, barking like crazy.

I once introduced Teddi to our neighbor's Golden Retriever (who is 10 times larger than Ted), and Ted proceeded to try and attack Morgan. Morgan just sat and stared at the bouncing and barking Teddi with his head cocked to the side, as if to say "what's wrong with this guy?"

Teddi had hair, not fur. So when the temperatures dipped below freezing, he got very cold, very quickly. One time I brought him outside to do his business, and he made it about 15 feet before his paws got so cold he froze (not literally) still and alternated lifting his paws up off the ground. He was shaking, unable to move, until I picked him up and brought him inside.

My sister gave Ted a bath when we were visiting her in RI one time. His skin is pink, and when his hair gets wet he looked like some sort of malnourished rodent.

But what I suppose we will remember about Teddi the most is that he was a part of our family, and a good friend to Nanci. So long Ted.
