Precious Time

Given our busy schedules, and impending heat wave (6 degrees today, near 50 on Monday), Danny and I put the skates on before he had to go off to school this morning. Nothing like having your bus pull up in front of your house, with all the little faces are staring out at you, as you skate in your back yard. Deb and I drove Danny in to school to give him a few extra minutes on the ice.

It was so cold I wore I hat....Scott doesn't mess up his hair w/o due cause. I have hair issues, and always have. But I digress.

The ice was choppy so a good hard skate was in order as it helps level off the high spots. I did a quick resurfacing with the MIM (Millin Ice Machine), and the ice is that much closer to being smooth.

Danny and I have hockey practice tonight, but Caroline is having a couple of friends over this afternoon, and they are planning to skate. Yeah!

Scott my ice is bumpy also but I feel that with the 4 days of warm weather and rain expected by the time it freezes again "it will be smooth as a new born babies *ss"

My daughter is home from college still, she is leaving on Sunday. I told her I skated and her eyes lit up and she asked, “can I skate?” Well my first thought was no because I need to make it perfect but I bit my tongue and told her to come over before she leaves. I always forget that I build this thing for people to skate on not for me to make a curling rink. We do get a little obsessed dont we?

so glad you had an opportunity to enjoy the rink. The weather has not necessarily been your best friend so far.

Have all the mystery leaves stopped falling?

Yes, the leaves seem to have finished falling. I believe the fact that we didn't skate until Jan 21st last year is why that particular phenomenon did not affect me.
