Ice Time

Most of the rink is in good shape after getting about 12 inches of snow dumped on us - just days after getting 10 inches. Only where snow was on the surface did I have problems. Otherwise, I have a decent sheet of ice to work with.

I trimmed off the excess liner after putting up the kick plates. The plates will prevent tearing of the liner just above the ice surface from skates and sticks, which would lead to leaks. I obtained two yellow 8' sections of kickplates from the Zamboni driver at the Skate 3 rink in Tyngsboro one night this past summer. They were lying on the floor in the back of the rink and I asked him if I could take them home...he really only spoke Spanish so who knows if he really knew what I was asking, but he shook his head 'yes' so that was good enough for me.

I does look quite nice this year. I am SOOOOO glad you have done this rink "for the cherubs"! If Ted where still alive we would have to stop him from marking the perfect ice.
